Biting into the iconic Antico Doccia plate, emblem of Italian ceramic tradition from the eighteenth century to today; a flame-shaped stopper, echoing the fire that crowns the Liberty Bell, turning a bottle into a Molotov; engraving “Your sins here” onto a pocket emptier tray which silhouettes recall late Baroque Florentine silverware.
There is nothing “right” about The Wrong Collection. It arises from the creative dialogue between Michele Carta, the brand’s founder and designer, and Matteo Grandese, a multi-award-winning copywriter on the international advertising scene. They are united by a deliberately off-balance aesthetic and by a shared attraction to what is imperfect, provocative, “wrong”.
